New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival 2021 : Lineup & Tickets

The legendary New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival will return to its home in the Big Easy from October 8-17 and organizers have just released the 2021 schedule. The festival kicks off on Friday with a full day of music, ending Saturday night with Dr. John performing as he has for every event since 1970.

On Friday, Oct. 8th The Black Crowes will headline the night with Brandi Carlile and Ziggy Marley set to perform as well. On Saturday, Demi Lovato and Wu-Tang Clan are scheduled for headlining sets along with Dead & Company.

  • This event takes place all weekend from October 8 -9 in Austin at Zilker Park.
  • You’ll be able to see a diverse lineup of artists ranging from rock (The Black Crowes), country (Brandi Carlile), R&B/soul (Ziggy Marley,) pop music(Demi Lovato)to Hip Hop’s greatest group ever: Wu-Tang Clan.
  • All tickets start at $199

Foo Fighters will be playing at the top of Sunday’s lineup, and they are sure to have a blast with Lizzo. Randy Newman is also on this day as well for those who love his music. The Revivalists’ bass player shares that “It’s been great seeing so many people wearing their purple shirts.”

Friday the 15th kicks off with a bang, as The Tedeschi Trucks Band goes head to head with The Beach Boys. Nile Rodgers and CHIC will also be putting on an electrifying show that is not one you want to miss.

The second weekend of Desert Trip starts Friday evening at 6 pm PST- this weekend’s lineup features some promising talent including Tedeschi Trucks Band vs. The BeachBoys; Nile Rogers & Chic; Gary Clark Jr.; Buddy Guy and more!! Be sure not to forget your sunglasses for these blistering shows in Indio Valley California.

On Saturday, Oct. 16th the final waves of artists will take to Jazz Fest’s stage for some great music and headlining sets by Stevie Nicks, H.E.R., Elvis Costello & The Imposters, Irma Thomas followed by Jimmy Buffett and Norah Jones among others on Sunday with a finale at 8:00 pm eastern time led by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue as well as Melissa Etheridge alongside many more performers coming together in celebration of New Orleans’ famed jazz fest.

Jazz Fest is a celebration of the unique culture and heritage that makes New Orleans so special. This year, Jazz Fest has put together an extensive music lineup including blues, gospel, traditional and contemporary jazz Cajun zydeco Mardi Gras Indians brass bands social aid & pleasure clubs to create one of the world’s most diverse music festival lineups for all types of fans.

Additionally according to a press release “Today, Jazz fest released its entire music lineup; which includes blues Gospel Traditional and Contemporary jazz Cajun Zydeco Mardis Gras Indian Brass Bands Social Aid And Pleasure Clubs in order to provide something different for everyone who attends this event.

For its 50th anniversary, Jazz Fest welcomed over 475,000 music fans to New Orleans for a head-spinning and toe-tapping week of festivities. The festival began in 1968 as the Creole Queen Festival with World War II veteran Louis Armstrong serving as honorary director. It is now one of America’s most important cultural celebrations that showcases Louisiana’s rich musical heritage while encouraging creative expression in all genres.

For their 50th Anniversary this year, Jazz Fest hosted an incredible lineup from some well-known artists such as Stevie Wonder and Justin Timberlake but also showcased 400 new bands who have never played at the event before which was great because it allowed them room to grow into future jazz legends themselves.

The Rolling Stones are set to headline the first-ever Wednesday at Jazz Fest, which will be an eventful one. The Festival’s signature stages of rock, pop, blues and more will take place with food booths serving mouthwatering regional delicacies throughout the day. Second-line parades should ensure there is plenty of dancing for all music lovers.

The Rolling Stones have been announced as headliners for this year’s inaugural jazz fest on a Tuesday night that also features Stevie Wonder & Kool & The Gang performing back-to-back sets in what promises to be “the most momentous musical doubleheader.”
