Early Life

Dua Lipa was born in London, the United Kingdom on August 22, 1995. She was born in Pristina, FRY, which at the time was part of SFRJ, present-day Serbia, and Montenegro. His mother Jeta was born into an Albanian family but moved to Kosovo when she married his father. Her mother, Anesa Lipa, works in tourism. After moving back to Kosovo, Dua started attending the Sylvia Young Theatre School part-time. She studied at the third-millennium school in Prishtina where she fell in love with Hip Hop Music. It was here that she began writing songs inspired by these artists.

At age 14, Lipa began uploading covers of popular music videos onto YouTube. Inspired by the fact that Justin Beiber’s success was credited to his video blog, she wanted to create her own successful channel.
