After postponing a gig scheduled for 2020, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform in Israel in 2023.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will return to Israel in 2023, according to a statement on Live Nation Israel’s Facebook page on Monday morning.

Last month, the alt-rock legends launched a global stadium tour for next year, which will be the band’s first in 15 years with rejoining guitarist John Frusciante.

The tour will last through the summer of 2023, as per Live Nation, and will include a stop in Tel Aviv. The message, which was emblazoned with an Israeli flag, added, “We’ll see you in 2023.”

Due to coronavirus laws, the band had to postpone a performance in 2020.

The band has had a tumultuous past attempting to book shows in Israel. The band was scheduled to play in 2001, during the height of the Second Intifada, but the show was canceled due to a variety of logistical reasons, however it appears that fear of terrorism and insurance troubles were the primary factors. They certainly made it to a 2012 performance in Park Hayarkon, where they performed for a sold-out crowd of 50,000.

We are delighted to reveal that the band will perform in 2023 as part of their worldwide tour.

The tickets purchased are suitable for the new date that will be updated shortly, and by doing so, they ensure people who purchase tickets to the concert at the original price.

When a South African fan inquired about tour dates, Flea hinted at more in 2023 on social media, stating the U.S. stadium tour in 2022 is ‘just the beginning.’

Fans all across the world are wondering what will happen next. “This is precisely how every band ever (including RHCP in former tours) does their tours,” AMeowingCat said on Reddit. I’m not sure where the assumption that the dates mentioned were the only ones originated from.”

“Well, considering that, aside from Australia and New Zealand, all of the countries left out have massive followings and aren’t primarily English speaking countries, it’s pretty easy for them to misinterpret ‘world tour’ considering they didn’t write anything like ‘first leg’ I guess,” Akmcf responded.

“Although I fully agree with this message, I’m also seeing from where the concern originates from,” FleaBones said. “For example, the stadium arcadium tour has traveled several nations but left South America out of the plans.” But, with John’s comeback and all the excitement, I believe they are thinking about it.”
