The Flaming Lips, a neo-psychedelic rock band, have scheduled a short North American tour for early 2023 in support of their most recent album, American Head. The tour begins on February 28 in Vancouver and runs through May, with stops in Stateline, Las Vegas, Del Mar, Anaheim, Santa Barbara, Chicago, and Washington, DC. The band will also perform at this year’s Shaky Knees Festival alongside The Lumineers, Hozier, Father John Misty, Future Islands, Live, and The Walkmen.
On September 11, 2020, Warner Records released ‘American Head,’ the 16th studio album by The Flaming Lips. Kacey Musgraves contributes vocals to the “God and the Policeman” track of the new album, which debuted at #25 on Billboard’s Rock album list. The band embarked on the American Head Tour the following year, featuring support from Particle Kid and Heartless Bastards until 2022. The Oklahoma City-based band has been together since 1983 and has already achieved three Grammy wins and a nomination for Best International Act at the Brit Awards.
