Sting, who was the main vocalist of The Police until going solo in 1984, has established himself as one of the UK’s most varied solo performers.
Sting is a musician, singer-songwriter, actor, author, and activist who has won 11 Grammy Awards, two BRIT Awards, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, four Oscar nominations, a Tony nomination, and was named Person of the Year by MusiCares in 2004. Queen Elizabeth II appointed him a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2003 for his numerous services to music.

As part of his 2022 “My Songs” tour, Sting will play at the St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview in Syracuse on Tuesday, Sept. 6, and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) in Saratoga Springs on Wednesday, Sept. 7. Joe Sumner, a special guest, will open both concerts at 8 p.m.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 1 through Live Nation. Prices may change in response to demand.

The live shows at St. Joe’s Amp and SPAC will present the “most beloved songs” from the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s career, which include The Police hits like “Every Breath You Take,” “Message in a Bottle,” “Demolition Man,” and “Roxanne,” as well as solo songs like “Fields of Gold” and “Shape of My Heart,” as per a press statement. Sting last performed in Upstate New York in 2017 at SPAC.
This year, the Amp has seventeen events scheduled, the most since all 27 acts set for 2020 were postponed or rearranged due to the Covid-19 outbreak. This season, SPAC has more than 30 concerts scheduled.
