Last Thoughts

The Weeknd, whose actual name is Abel Tesfaye, originally garnered a following in 2010 when he posted a few handmade recordings online, kicking off his distinctive dark, sensuous, brooding R&B sound. The Weeknd soon soared to worldwide prominence with Billboard R&B chart-topping albums including Trilogy and Kiss Land, thanks to early praise from The New York Times, Pitchfork, and fellow Canadian artist Drake. He rapidly began touring with Drake, Justin Timberlake, and Jhene Aiko after his early record success. Since then, hits from The Weeknd’s critically praised albums “My Dear, Melancholy,” “Starboy,” and “Beauty Behind the Madness” have dominated the music charts. In addition to developing his own original tracks, the Toronto native has continued to gain popularity through collaborations with singers such as Drake, SZA, Ariana Grande, and Kanye West. Take in a The Weeknd After Hours tour concert, where he performs his most famous songs  live, including “Wicked Games,” “The Hills,” and “I Feel it Coming.” He’s also recognized for his appearance at the Super Bowl halftime show and his involvement in the 2019 smash film “Uncut Gems.”
