The pop-punk band State Champs has announced that they will embark on a tour across North America in the fall of 2022 to support their latest studio album, “Kings of the New Age.” The tour will promote the band’s most recent studio album. The tour will begin on November 11 in Cleveland and continue through December, making stops in places such as Baltimore, Brooklyn, Toronto, Chicago, Anaheim, Orlando, and their hometown of Albany. In total, there will be 21 performances. Special guests Hunny, Between You & Me, Young Culture, Games We Play, and Save Face will accompany the band on a select number of shows during their tour.

On May 13, 2022, State Champs presented the world with their fourth studio album, “Kings of the New Age,” released by Pure Noise Records. Following 2018’s ‘Living Proof,’ which peaked at #28 on the Billboard 200 and marked the final album to feature rhythm guitarist Tony Diaz, the band returns with a brand new studio effort. In the same year, the band went on a massive tour across the United States, and they were supported on the road by Homesafe, Undesirable People, and Keep Flying. Back in 2021, Four Year Strong, Real Friends, Just Friends, and Bearings were some bands that joined them on their Pure Noise Records Tour.

Pop-punk with a Modern Twist & International Notoriety

In the late 1990s, the pop-pun music genre reached its peak popularity because of several bands, including Blink-182, Green Day, and Fall Out Boy, who all enjoyed enormous commercial success within the context of the pop-punk genre. The popularity of alternative rock and punk seemed to result in fewer new artists hitting the scene until bands like State Champs began creating new music in the pop-punk genre. Even though these bands still perform today, the widespread appeal of alternative rock and punk seemed to find fewer contemporary artists hitting the scene. The continued popularity of this genre of music can be inferred from the fact that State Champs has achieved such great commercial success. The album “Living Proof,” released by the band in 2018, debuted in the top 100 of the Billboard 200 list and has been played often on the radio. As part of the promotion for the album, the band went on tour worldwide, making stops in Spain, England, the Philippines, and finally, the United States. The band performed at least ten times every month to packed venues and frequently, even more consistently. State Champs are giving the pop-punk genre a fresh look on the international music scene.
