Lynyrd Skynyrd Plots Last Leg Tour 2020

Struggle, hard work, fame, crash, reunion, reunited and farewell. It’s very hard to tell what’s next. Lynyrd Skynyrd the southern rock band with their 40 years of journey, has seen all these things. From a struggling little band to a big shot national band, their journey has been a phenomenal one. And they says, the band won’t do live performances anymore.

The band has extended their tour which is called “Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour Lyve!”. It will start on 7 March 2020 and it is most likely to end on 8 May of that year. The original Farewell tour was announced earlier in 2018 and it started on May 4 of that year. They will stop doing concerts and tours after this Farewell tour. Their lead vocalist says they will record songs in the studio but will retire from the tours.

With four-decades of long history it is a very popular band. As Lynyrd Skynyrd had its golden days it also went through a lot of heartbreaking moments. In 1977, a completely tragic incident took place. A plane crash took away the band’s founding member Ronnie Van Zan who was the current vocalist’s elder brother, Steve Gaines and their backup singer Cassie Gaines. The band’s activities were halted for years. And in 1987 it was reunited again with it’s 5 major members from before the crash joining the band along with Ronnie Van Zant’s younger brother Johnny Van Zant. He then took the lead singer role and he also started to write songs for the band.

Jacksonville, Florida, on September 2018.
