Jerry Cantrell has announced that he will be hitting the road next year for a solo tour, which includes his new album Brighten and other tunes from his various albums.
Alice In Chains is coming to America for the first time in 27 years. There will be 29 dates on this tour, spanning from March 23rd all the way until May 5th, 2022. The band told fans that they are “Looking forward to rawking out with you all” so make sure not to miss these shows if you have any chance of doing so.
Speaking to Kerrang! recently about his life plans and when we may be seeing him on stage again, Jerry explained that “This record has been in the process for a while so some of the decisions I had to make about the release and tour dates were predicated on what’s happening with the pandemic. We made those calls take a cautious approach.” He continued by saying “There probably won’t be a whole bunch of touring or shows this year but maybe we’ll figure out something do here and there”.
Cantrell will be releasing his third solo album on October 29th, 2021. His first two albums were not as successful but at least he was nominated for Best Rock Album in 2019 with Alice In Chains ‘Rainier Fog’. The long-running band has sold over 30 million records worldwide and is best known for their classic songs such as “Man In the Box” and “Them Bones”.
The album is the product of a team effort, which includes many familiar faces. Including Dillinger Escape Plan’s Greg Puciato and Guns N Roses bassist Duff McKagan as well as producer Tyler Bates, this cast made Brighten into an eclectic song set with punk rock roots that also draws from hip hop and jazz influences.
Speaking with Heavy Consequence late last week for a soon-to-be-published interview, Cantrell stated that he hopes to take some of his talented friends on the road. When asked about former Guns N’ Roses bandmate McKagan’s involvement in what is shaping up to be an epic tour and new album release this year, Cantrell was nothing but kind when he responded “I hope so.”
It’s almost Friday, which means it is time to get your tickets for the tour. Pre-orders are also available now so you can be one of the first people in line!
