Eric Church’s Tour Cancellation Sparked Anger Among The Fans

Country music singer Eric Church has cancelled his tour, which has triggered much backlash and anger among the fans. The primary cause of the offence is that the singer cancelled the tour to watch the basketball match.

The date of the concert was decided in April of 2021, and Eric’s church did not know that the Tar Heels would play the final the next year. The legendary North Carolina basketball team coach Roy Williams retired in 2021, and there was little hope for the Tar Heels.

The announcement was made on 31st March has sparked a debate on social media. Over the 43 years, an old artist has announced the cancellation of Saturday’s concert in San Antonio and has acknowledged that it is “the most selfish thing” that he has done to his fans. Instead of going to San Antonio to entertain the fans who would be waiting for him, the star decided that he should watch a match and suddenly announced the cancellation of the tour. The Duke and North Carolina match will be played on 3rd April 2022.

Eric Church, on his Twitter, said that he is a die-hard fan of the Carolina basketball team, and he has watched every match of basketball between Carolina and Duke over the years. This is the first time these two teams are competing in the Final Four, and it is a dream come true for any sports enthusiast.

The reactions of the fans were harsh but as expected. One fan tweeted that he is throwing emotional words like “family” to support his baseless excuse. Thousands of fans were looking forward to the concert, and he cancelled it for an “important” basketball match. He does not care about his fans. Another fan took the heat to Twitter and said that if Eric Church had believed in the Tar Heels, he would have never set the tour in the time of the final four.

Despite the policy of full return of the tickets if the concert is cancelled, the fans are not happy about this late cancellation of the tour. One fan commented on a Miami Herald tweet about Eric Church that she had booked a hotel for $460 to attend the San Antonio concert, and that Eric Church owed her that amount. Although the full payment of the ticket would be returned, that would not be enough to calm down the angry fans.

Eric Church’s concert in Fort Worth, Texas, will be organised on Friday as usual, and the next concert will be in New Orleans on the 9th of April. The match between Carolina and Duke will also be played in New Orleans on 3rd April so he would have enough time to celebrate the match and can easily make himself prepare for the concert. The other concerts on tour will be organised as scheduled, and there are no changes to these dates. There is no announcement of the rescheduling of the cancelled tour. Read More: Legendary glam rockers Roxy Music has announced 50th anniversary tour 2022 dates with St. Vincent as support
