FAQ
Who were the original members of Earth Wind and Fire?
Earth, Wind, and Fire were created in Chicago, Illinois, the USA by musical giants like Maurice White and Philip Bailey. These two men were the founding members of the band with a few others who later left. The group has undergone many changes but they remain one of the most influential bands ever to come out of America. Earth-Wind and Fire are still performing today because their music never gets old.
Why is Earth Wind and Fire called that?
The name comes from an African-American spiritual chant that has been used since the 19th century which says: “Oh Lord our God arise; Let thy wrath be kindled against our foes.” If we break it down further it translates to “earth wind fire.” Earth corresponds with the ground below us or Mother Nature as she is sometimes called. That refers to earthly things like food and shelter.
