Doja Cat, a 26-year-old American rapper, hinted that she’s retiring music in a string of tweets in which she voiced her dissatisfaction, even changing her Twitter profile to ‘I Quit.’
Doja, whose full name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, had to suspend her performance at Paraguay’s Asuncionico festival on March 22 owing to severe floods caused by a storm, she claimed.
In a series of fiery tweets, Doja Cat declared that she was finished with the music world.
The meeting was held on Thursday “This s-it ain’t for me, therefore I’m out,” the artist tweeted. Take care of yourselves.”
She did a concert in Brazil earlier that evening, and she apologized to supporters for not presenting it her best.
“I don’t think I gave Brazil a good enough concert tonight, and I apologize for that,” she wrote. “However, thank you guys for coming out, I f-cking love you, and thank god we have another show tomorrow, I promise I’ll do better.”
The event occurred 48 hours after she decided to suspend a concert in Paraguay owing to heavy floods caused by a storm. After she gushed over Brazil, Paraguayan Twitter users accused her of being unconcerned about their nation.
Fans also chastised her for not greeting the numerous people who waited for her in the rain outside the Asunciónico festival in Paraguay and out of her hotel simply to see her.
“I’m not sorry,” Doja answered later along with the Twitter conversation.
She said that the backlash she experienced on social sites for canceling the concert due to safety concerns placed her under a lot of stress.
She also used her Instagram Story to share a screenshot of her horoscope from a website, possibly referencing her fight with fans.
It said, “Waves of unexpected opposition will hit you. Your defenses have already been undermined by your career’s climax moment. Extra aggressiveness from others would be the last thing you need. You’re going to receive it, unfortunately, so be ready.”
As one Twitter user put it, “There hasn’t been a single photo taken in Paraguay, nor has there been one tweet, nor has there been a one Instagram story!!! You depleted our resources!!”
When supporters demanded an apology to Paraguay, she stated that she had “gone on” and that she had decided to “let everybody be upset” at her.
She also stated that after her world tour is over, she will no longer take photographs with fans.
“It’s gone, and I don’t care an f-ck anymore. I f-ckin quit, and I can’t wait to f-cking vanish. Everything is dead to me, including music, and I’m an f-cking idiot for ever believing I was destined for this. Unfollow me, since this is an f-cking nightmare “she penned
Doja changed her Twitter handle to I quit” after her posts on Thursday night, and then to I quit still” this morning, as followers wondered if she had made the statements in the heat of the moment.
She shared a video of herself sarcastically singing while having her hair and makeup done for her performance on March 26th afternoon. “I’m about to bust,” she captioned the photo.
