The reformed lineup of Dance Gavin Dance will be on the road for “An Evening With Friends” starting in late July of 2022, as the band has revealed the tour dates for their upcoming 2022 tour.
In celebration of their upcoming album Jackpot Juicer, which is scheduled for release later this week, the band will perform 21 performances throughout this run.
The band’s previous singer Tilian Pearson was accused of sexual assault earlier this year, which led to the cancellation of their original intentions to stage gigs and the subsequent announcement of their upcoming tour.
Since then, Pearson has left the band, and guitarist Andrew Wells has taken over as the band’s primary singer. Marc Okubo, formerly of Veil of Maya, has joined the band to take Wells’ place as the band’s guitarist.
In addition, Dance Gavin Dance will be joined on specific dates of their tour by the band’s former leader, Kurt Travis.
Matt Mingus, the drummer for the band, had this to say about the forthcoming performances: “We are delighted to launch our exciting and intimate headlining tour, ‘An Evening With Friends.'”
“Unfortunately, and not by our choice, we were informed the previous month that we would not be able to play on the summer tour that we had been looking forward to in the prior year.
We were fortunate to get support from our partners in the form of assistance in organizing a last-minute headlining tour that visited the majority of the cities in which we had previously planned to play.
Mingus said that “it is yet another challenge that has been placed in our path that we are ready and able to conquer.”
“Although adjusting to change may be difficult at times, we are enthusiastic about the future and looking forward to it with our heads held high and a beautiful new record to enjoy.
