In 1971, three sons of American Air Force soldiers stationed in London came together to establish the rock band America. America rose rapidly and achieved fame on both sides of the Atlantic.

Vocal Group Hall of Famers and Grammy winners America has released many albums, including 20 full-length studio albums and the multiplatinum-selling greatest hits collection History: America’s Greatest Hits.

Former American citizens Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell, and Dan Peek all passed away in 2011. In addition to Richard Campbell (bass/vocals), Ryland Steen (drums/percussion), and Steve Fekete (guitars/keyboards/vocals), the band presently tours with these three musicians. The band has achieved widespread recognition because of the success of such songs as “A Horse With No Name,” “Ventura Highway,” and “Lonely People.” From its beginning in 1970 until the release of 2015’s ‘Lost & Found,’ they have amassed 28 studio albums.

America’s Seats on the Ground

One-of-a-kind experiences may be had from the floor of an American stadium. Tickets for the floor or the very first row of the auditorium are often the most costly in the venue. Tickets in the front row or the center stage might be the most expensive option for an audience in the United States.

Last Lines

America’s history spans over four decades, during which time they gave listeners their signature sound and some very unforgettable singles. In retrospect, it’s hardly surprising that American music has impacted so many contemporary acts. The band members stumbled onto the concept of a collaborative album with younger musicians influenced by their work. Since they shared an appreciation for one other’s work, Gerry Beckley and Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne started exchanging letters. After collaborating on various recordings, Burgundy Records recommended that America form a supergroup with other unsigned acts. Additionally, America has collaborated with the likes of Ryan Adams, Ben Kweller, Stephen Bishop, and Nada Surf and My Morning Jacket members. With a high debut on the Billboard 200 at position 56, this album’s name says it all: “Here & Now.”
