HLSR show know as Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo also called RodeoHouston. But the most
important and interesting part is that this is the largest livestock show in the whole world. So there is no
doubt that this show is a signature event of hosting city. It is organised in Houston, Texas at NRG
Stadium since 2003. And its not only a signature event for Texas but also for San Diego and New York
city. Its genre is Rodeo, Livestock show and Fair. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 2020 has
finished few days ago. it was 20 days long. Next year show will held on 2nd March to 21th March. But
the sad part is this year RodeoHouston was cancelled on 11th March for health issue. Houston Mayor
Sylvester Turner said the new presumptive positive case of coronavirus that was reported Tuesday in
Montgomery County was not related to international travel, and there was evidence of community
spread in that case. That is what led to the decision to cancel the Rodeo.
History of RodeoHouston:-
Since the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ was built up, it has made an amazing impression on the
domesticated animals and media outlets and in the game of rodeo. It additionally has assumed an
outstanding job in improving the lives of thousands of youngsters in the province of Texas.
The numerous achievements celebrated during the time have all added to Houston's most well known

In 1931 total seven men arranged a lunch at the Texas State Hotel for taking an initiative for Livestock
extubation and Fat Stock Show. For the very first time this Show is organised in Houston at the
Democratic Convention Hall. The show was closed for this year because of under construction of Sam
Houston Coliseum. In 1957 the show announced of their initial Scholarship which was $2000 to
Houstonian Ben Dickerson. After that in 1961 this show change their name. They put a new name which
was Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. In 1963 students present their work at the first program of
rodeo's which is known as Scholl Art Program. After that a massive and world first Bar-B-Que
Championship show was organised at the rodeo. In 1977 scholarship amount was increased from $2009
to $6000 and in 1986 it was $8000. After that in 1992 this scholarship amount waz $10000.
In 1996 Houston Rodeo set their Official name which was RodeoHouston. George Strait was the
headliner of their first School Art Auction in front of 62936 spectators. In 2012 the scholarship amount
was $18000 for every student.
So RodeoHouston is now one of the biggest, richest and largest live auction in whole world we can enjoy
various competition like wine competition, shopping, live concert by country Singer, and livestock
auction too. In 2019 the attendance reached a big record of 2,506,263 people including with 33000
volunteers.
